The Shelby County Republicans are committed to the principles and tenants of the Republican Party and are committed to electing individuals who embrace these principles to county, state and federal offices.
These principles can be defined as our:
VISION: We empower and educate the Shelby County community by recruiting and supporting true conservative candidates, consistently win elections and engage our members through promoting conservative values, ensuring the citizens' voices are heard.
MISSION: We work to bring structure and efficiency to the county by promoting conservative policies and fiscal responsibility.
VALUES: Integrity, Respect, Servant Leadership
Specifically, we are committed to responsible spending at all levels of government. We believe elected officials at all levels of government should do everything they can to make sure taxpayers’ money is spent wisely.
We are opposed to tax increases and committed to finding ways to reduce the cost of government at levels. Illinois has nearly 7,000 units of local government – more than any other state in the nation. The Illinois taxpayers are being squeezed and they need relief. The Republican Party is the only political party taxpayers can count on to fight for them.
We are committed to ethics, pension and tax reforms. The only way to turn our state around is to elect people at all levels of government to fight for these reforms. The Republican Party is the party of reform.
The Shelby County Republicans also believe in the sanctity of human life. We believe life begins at conception and we will fight for the rights of unborn children. Life is a gift from God, and we have a responsibility to protect the lives of the most vulnerable in our society which includes the lives of unborn children.
Finally, we believe in the right of honest citizens to bear arms. The 2nd Amendment is under assault in our culture. Far-left Democrats will stop at nothing to take away our 2nd Amendment rights. We stand against the harmful policies many in the Democrat party are advocating and we will defend our 2nd Amendment rights.
